Sunand Sharma came to Guelph to attend a college in a city not different from his hometown, St. Catharines. It was a safe place, one in which he could learn, grow and go on to develop a career as a rising star in student leadership, citizenship and engagement.

Professor Karine Gagné (Department of Sociology & Anthropology) is co-author, with S. Chostak, of "Climate change beyond technocracy: citizenship and drought practices in the Indian Himalayas." The paper is published in The Journal of Peasant Studies.

Anju Philip successfully defended her PhD dissertation, "The Impact of Social Networks on the Work-Life Choices of South Asian Women in Ontario, Canada” on December 6, 2023. Anju is graduating from the Department of Management at the Lang School of Business and Economics where she was working under the advisement of Dr. Sean Lyons and committee members, Dr. Sharada Srinivasan and Dr. Sandeep Mishra. Defense examiners were Dr. Jamie Gruman (University of Guelph) and Dr. Shaista Khilji (George Washington University).

Helping people access clean water is worth travelling for…and for me, it meant visiting India for the 46th time. I made my latest trip to India in June, 2023 to visit the Indian Institute of Technology – Roorkee, the premiere institute in India dealing with water resources.
