Become a Member

CIRCLE invites scholars with active research or engagement related to India, South Asia or their Diasporas.


Associate Membership

Associate members are tenure-stream and non-tenure stream faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students from across the different campuses of the University of Guelph and Guelph-Humber who are active in scholarship or engagement relating to India, South Asia or their Diasporas and are committed to CIRCLE's mandate.

Individuals wishing to be members will submit the membership form, which includes an expression of interest (why you would like to be a member of CIRCLE and what you bring to CIRCLE). The Membership Committee reviews all applications. 

Associate membership will normally be for a five-year term and can be renewed.

Associate members will be invited to attend CIRCLE's Annual General Meeting, and to participate and assist in planning/organizing CIRCLE events as appropriate to their interests.

Associate members will be part of a searchable database and may be eligible for CIRCLE's funding opportunities.


Affiliate Membership

Affiliate members are staff, retired and part-time/sessional faculty, visiting scholars (faculty/students), former graduate students of the University of Guelph as well as faculty and graduate students from other universities and educational institutions. Individuals from governments, the private sector or not‐for‐profit and community-based organizations or NGOs, and who are actively involved in scholarship and/or engagement relating to India, South Asia or their Diasporas, and committed to CIRCLE's mandate are welcome to become affiliate members.

Individuals wishing to be affiliate members will submit the membership form which includes an expression of interest (why you would like to be a member of CIRCLE and what you bring to CIRCLE). The Membership Committee reviews all applications. 

The length of term as well as renewal of an affiliate membership shall be decided on a case-by-case basis by the Director and the Membership Committee.

Affiliate members will be part of a searchable database.
