Poojan completed her Honours Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology: Brain & Cognition at the University of Guelph. Currently, she is in her first year of the Master’s in Applied Social Psychology program. Poojan is interested in exploring the shift in media discourse of Ukrainian refugees and how this may influence support for refugees. Outside of her thesis work, Poojan is exploring stigma related to mental health and aging, specifically people living with dementia within the South Asian community.

Poojan was the CIRCLE Student Outreach Assistant. In addition, Poojan is interested in staying connected with CIRCLE as it has allowed her to gain knowledge and explore various perspectives about research and outputs related to India, South Asia, and their diasporas. The India in 2047 lecture series have been a great learning opportunity to understand the history, present conditions, and future outlook for India in relation to health, science, education, environment, economy, and democracy.
