I'm a biocultural diversity studies enthusiast, and my research focus has been biocultural diversity of different ethnic groups in India and Indigenous Peoples in Canada. My research was predominantly focused on biocultural diversity of ethic groups associated with forests and pastoralism in India. My PhD thesis at the People, Plants and Policy Lab, in the Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics, University of Guelph focuses on biocultural landscapes of First Nations Peoples in Canada and different ethnic groups in India. My research examines the connections and implications of settler colonialism in Canada and functional colonialism in India to biocultural diversity and biocultural landscapes in both the countries.
