Successful MRP Completion by Meher Fiha, a CIRCLE Masters Fund Recipient

Meher Fiha successfully completed her MRP, "Negotiating Identity and Belonging: A Study of Second-Generation South Asian Immigrant Experience in Derek Mascarenhas’ Coconut Dreams," (advisor: Gregor Campbell) in April 2025. 

A CIRCLE Master's Fund Recipient, Fiha expresses how the funding from CIRCLE facilitated her research, "My research focused deeply on immigrant narratives, particularly those authored by South Asian immigrants in Canada. Accessing these often expensive and specialized texts was crucial to my work. The generous funding I received from CIRCLE played a vital role—not only did it allow me to purchase key books, but it also covered essential expenses such as stationery and printing costs throughout the writing process. This support enabled me to fully dedicate myself to my research without the added stress of financial constraints."
