The research I carry out examines manufacturing and processing of materials for automotive and aerospace industries. Research with Indian partners has included examining defects in magnesium alloys and developing aluminium alloys for emerging hybrid and electric vehicles. For manufacturers who are looking for ways to reduce the weight of their vehicles our research on materials will provide techniques and insights that will help them manufacture complex, defect free components for their vehicles.
