Join us for an inspiring conversation with Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Chair of the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) in India, and former Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Dr. Swaminathan is a globally recognized pediatrician and expert in tuberculosis and HIV research. As WHO’s first Chief Scientist, she led the creation of its Science Division and played a pivotal role in launching Covax, ensuring equitable vaccine access during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now leading MSSRF, she focuses on:
- Climate change and its health impacts on women and children
- Food system transformations for nutrition security in South Asia
- Translating science into community-driven development
Her 2024 biography, At The Wheel of Research, chronicles over 40 years of groundbreaking work in clinical care and global health.
