My first project focused on the relationship between South Asian diaspora and Indian nationalists during the early twentieth century. My second project investigates the positionality of South Asian diaspora in settler colonies like South Africa and Canada, particularly what Indian anticolonial activists thought about those diaspora.
My third project focuses on the experiences and historical contexts of attempts to repatriate South Asian diaspora and their descendants to India, the experiences of those repatriates, and what Indian nationalists thought about them.

I would like to become a member of CIRCLE for a few reasons. First, I have presented at CIRCLE's lecture series (October 2020) and helped out as a moderator at its conferences before. Second, my research focuses on South Asian diaspora and I would like to build community in this area. Third, I am both a scholar and administrator advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion strategic and structural work at Wilfrid Laurier University. This work is informed by my scholarship on South Asian diaspora and I think it could be of use to the other CIRCLE members in building connections. Fourth, my research aligns with the research already being done at CIRCLE.
