Farhana Razzak
My research interest involves diasporic political participation with a specific focus on the political engagement of the Bangladeshi transnational community in Canada to that of other diaspora communities. It addresses the nuances through an intersectional framework as a part of the migration regime and the study of political participation across identity, experience, and location.
CIRCLE allows me to engage in multidisciplinary learning and connect with the researchers working on their respective areas of expertise. As a Ph.D. student, staying connected and involved with the learning experience that amplifies critical thinking and new ideas is extremely important. Hence my research area and my own identity as an international student is deeply rooted in my South Asian ties, CIRCLE is the best place to be!
