Seeking Research Participants: "What to wear and what to eat, that is the question”: The relationship between Canadian immigrants' ethnic identity, acculturation and ethnic products.

Posted on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024

This research is being conducted by Shruti Chandrashekhar Nadkarni, Ph.D. Candidate, under the supervision of Professor Saba Safdar from the Department of Psychology at the University of Guelph. This research will contribute to a PhD thesis.

This is an online survey designed to examine the relationship between the availability and accessibility of ethnic products (clothes and food) in the Canadian market and the ethnic identity and experiences of first-generation immigrants in Canada. The study thus aims to understand whether ethnic products and being able to buy and use them are significant to first-generation immigrants.

You are welcome to participate in this research, if you are:
1. First-generation immigrant (a permanent resident [or are in the process of acquiring one] OR a citizen of Canada but were not born in Canada) AND 2. Above the age of 18 years.

As an incentive to complete the study, each participant who finishes the survey will have the chance to enter a draw for an Amazon gift card. You have a 5.06% chance to win one of the 20 Amazon gift cards worth $40/each.
