Date and Time
Details
Speaker: Dr. Sugandha Nagpal, Assistant Professor, Jindal School of International Affairs, O.P. Jindal Global University
The webinar will discuss the experiences of Punjabi Dalit women from upwardly mobile families in the Doaba region of Punjab. These young women have strong aspirations tied to international migration and government employment. Often due to their compromised access to resources and social networks, the fulfilment of these aspirations remains uncertain. Young women respond to these uncertainties by drawing on education as source of distinction to claim middle class identities.
