CIRCLE is seeking two Student Research Writers

The Canada India Research Centre for Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE) at the University of Guelph is an interdisciplinary nucleus for cutting edge research on India, south Asia and their diasporas. CIRCLE works to showcase, advocate, catalyse, and foster an equitable, respectful, and sustained exchange of knowledge between Canadian and Indian scholars on complex and emerging (and unexplored) topics related to sustainability and social and economic well-being.

CIRCLE is seeking two (2) graduate or upper undergraduate students for curating research profiles and encounters. We are looking for new ideas to reenergize the research profile section. This paid position would report to the Director of CIRCLE and will work closely with the Coordinator and other student assistants.  

Duration: October to December 2024, involving 4 to 6 hours of work each week. The position pays $20–$25/ hour.

Tasks that the position would assist with include:

  • Identify and connect with relevant researchers and individuals for potential research stories
  • Curate encounters and profiles for CIRCLE
  • Other tasks as assigned

This opportunity would enhance the student assistant’s research and writing skills through excellent mentoring, and knowledge about India, south Asia and their diasporas.

Interested candidates must be currently enrolled in a study program at the University of Guelph, be creative and have excellent writing skills. An interest in India, South Asia and/or their diasporas is desired.
